Presentation Outline

The level of academic achievement that students attain by eighth grade has a larger impact on their college and career readiness by the time they graduate from high school than anything that happens academically in high school.

In 2008, ACT, Inc. issued The Forgotten Middle, a report highlighting the importance of college and career readiness before high school and urging stakeholders to focus greater attention on the middle grades. Has the situation improved since then? Are the middle grades still “forgotten”?

In this webinar, ACT will provide members with updated data on middle grade progress. In addition, two initiatives will share their efforts to ensure middle grade students are on track for college and career readiness.

Speakers

Cassi Barker-Carr, ACT, Inc. Career and College Readiness
