Students from Ellen Ochoa Learning Center’s (Los Angeles USD) Career & College Club celebrated National Middle Level Education Month in March by hosting a motivational assembly that focused on the importance of middle grades for college readiness and career preparation.

To inform and motivate their peers, parents, siblings, and members of the community, the students performed skits on going to college and choosing a career. They gave personal testimonials on how Career & College Clubs has helped them start their college preparation in middle school.

In addition, they invited Keith Price to speak about how he overcame academic challenges on his path to a college degree. Price is a college graduate, the former starting quarterback for the University of Washington, and native of Compton.

The students and their teacher, Sherry De Fontenelle, did a fantastic job!
