In effort to inspire students to pursue an education beyond high school, First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative and the U.S. Department of Education (ED) formally launched a mobile app competition to promote the development of mobile apps to help students navigate education and career pathways.
The Challenge seeks mobile app solutions focused on middle and high school students that include integrated tools to assess user skills and interests, and offer users accessible information on occupations, education options, credentials, and career-seeking skills through an individualized user experience.
A total of $225,000 in prize money will be awarded to the winners.
The deadline to submit an app idea is December 6, 2015. Challenge details and guidelines can be found here.
