ACT, Inc., the organization that administers the ACT test, recently hosted a webinar focused on Career & College Clubs.
Evening the Odds for College-Bound Students: Applying a Holistic Approach to Career and College Readiness Curricula explored the research basis for the new, expanded Career & College Clubs curriculum, and provided first-person insights from a current user of the program.
The webinar provided an overview of the ACT Holistic Framework, a multidimensional approach to student readiness that includes a focus on interests and behaviors (social-emotional learning) along with the general cognitive skills traditionally taught in classrooms, as well as a firsthand account from a school system implementing the program. Career & College Clubs, informed by the Holistic Framework, is a readiness curriculum for students in grades 7–12.
