U.S. News & World Report has released their list of 100 Best Jobs for 2017.
They define “good jobs” as those that pay well, challenge us, are a good match for our talents and skills, aren’t too stressful, offer room to advance and provide a satisfying work-life balance. They also add that, “the best careers are ones that are hiring.”
The top five jobs are: Dentist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Statistician, and Orthodontist. To read the full list of 100 Best Jobs for 2017, click here.
Career & College Clubs is dedicated to helping students learn the why, how, and importance of being college and career ready upon graduation from high school. Given that a “job” is typically something you do in the short term, typically for reasons tied into financial responsibilities, we focus our curriculum on “careers” and their pathways, which are achieved by setting long-term goals that are not only financially beneficial, but personally fulfilling as well. Worth noting – the majority of the jobs listed in the report require 4-year or advanced degrees. The earlier students learn that their dreams of future success are tied into their education and college preparation planning, the more attainable careers on this list will be for students, particularly those of underserved communities.
